In addition to managing the daily life in the lab, Yaara also researches the crosstalk between mast cells and different cancer models, focusing on mast cell-cancer cell communication through direct contact and exosomes.
Lab Members
Pia's research focuses on comparing the innate versus the adaptive modes of mast cell response. As an adaptive model, Pia chose the IgE-dependent allergic pathway, whereas the innate model is based on activation of the cells through the MRGPRX2 receptor.
Jana researches the role of the small GTPase Rab12 in the trafficiking of mast cell granules under allergic conditions.
Sewar is researching the role of lipid domains in different organelles in the recruitment of transport and fusion machinery.
Shaked's work is focused on the cross-talk between mast cells and cancer cells. In particular, Shaked is researching the transfer of miRNA from mast cells to cancer cells through exosome secretion.
